Overwatch: The Hype and the… Hype

WARNING! Long Post Ahead! If you’ve been following really anything recently, you’ve probably heard this title before. Even if you’ve been watching sporting events recently, the ads show up. Being a gamer myself, it’s not a huge surprise that I’m talking about this. Up until today, it was really the game to talk about. (Until Zelda: Breath of the Wild was shown off at E3 today. I’ll talk about that later this week.) However, I’m not here to say that it’s HIGH NOON or that the Calvary’s Here. I’m here to explain exactly how I was able to get my hands on this game, as getting something this close to launch is kinda unusual for me. It was gifted. As of now I’ve only had it for two days. Long story short, the one game that has been often compared to this one, Team Fortress 2, is one that I …

Title Unknown

I’m not really sure what to call this. Less than an hour away, 49 innocent people have lost their lives. Well, more like 35 minutes or less. Either way, it’s a small world. Sure, the attacks in Paris were awful, but they didn’t hit me directly as it’s thousands of miles away. This was a short distance away, in the middle of a town I’ve grown up near. One that is a tourist destination for nearly anyone on earth. Now, it’s the center of a terrorist attack. Part of me isn’t sure what to say, but, I will say this: People had gotten out of the nightclub and instantly posted to social media to alert that they were okay. I myself have no problem with this, but some of the content in those posts noted the locations of other survivors. You don’t think the shooter is going to be checking social media? …

Boom. Canshot.

Well, today was certainly interesting. I shot off a lethal weapon. No, not something like an M-16, but a Pellet Rifle. I’ve never shot off any form of firearm before, but I could probably pass of that I had. An old family friend invited us over to catch up, and to have us try out a new self-made target range. (Which he kept a secret until about midway through the evening.) Once the targets were set up, and other members of my family took a few shots, I got a turn. First, with a Semi-Automatic BB Pistol. It was fun and all, but once the Pellet Rifle was brought out, my Father (Who was in the Korean Military.) took a couple shots. Now, this wasn’t just a first for me. It was also a first for our friend. He had just assembled the targets and had recently purchased the pellet rifle. …

A Single Step

Welcome to my blog. My name’s Ian. Or, as one of my superiors called me, the iKim. This is step one, or, more accurately, Post One. The first post on a blog that will contain personal reflections, notes, findings, gaming related content and the occasional survey for you, the reader to help me improve my content. In terms of a schedule, there will be at least one post a week, but possibly more. It all depends on what is happening to me currently. I want this to be a blog where I not only post what I want to, but listen and respond to my followers as well. Over the next few weeks, things are likely to change. This site will be getting some visual changes, links to my other forms of social media will come up and a subscription option will become available. To those of you viewing this post …
